THE DESIGN COLLECTION-
(at Staffordshire
University) was established in the early 1980's.
It includes
many articles relating to advertising / costume & textiles /
periodicals / utility products / plastics , and has now become an
important design reference consisting of a large number of fascinating
items. The task of recording, cataloguing and labelling is of major
consideration where voluntary help is assisting to this end.
Particularly relating to the handling and labelling of the costume
collections is the need for deft needlework ability. It is an area where
Ruth Brown, the Design Collection Manager, hopes to tap-in to much
latent expertise which exists from within our members. Immediate past
chairman Brian Haynes has agreed to coordinate and steer activities to
this end.
